Most of what makes a Moore summer worth writing home about happens inside a single ZIP code, and most of it clusters around one address. Central Park at 700 S. Broadway has quietly turned into the town's civic living room between June and September, hosting the concert series, the movie nights, the farmers market, and the end-of-summer blowout on rotating Fridays and Saturdays. The restaurants, meanwhile, have done the opposite. They have spread outward to Old Town and down the S. Western corridor, forming a rough ring around the park.
For a resident, that geographic split is useful. It means you can plan a whole evening on foot from the amphitheater, or you can flip the order and eat first at a place a few minutes' drive from the park. The rest of this post is a working calendar for the back half of the season, with the specific bands, movies, food trucks, and tables that give each night its shape.
The Park Is Doing The Heavy Lifting
The Parks and Recreation department has scheduled programming through Labor Day at Central Park Amphitheater and Pavilion, 700 S. Broadway Avenue, and the lineup is more specific than most residents realize.
Summer Beats & Eats on Friday, June 5, 2026 from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. featured The Coveralls as the band, with food trucks from Ferrylicious, Get Fizzy With It, Psycho Taco, Chef Ray's Street Eats, and Cutie Pies Concession, plus beer from Anthem Brewery. If you missed it, the same amphitheater carries the summer movie series next. Movie in the Park on Friday, July 31 shows Mario Galaxy from 8:30 to 10:00 p.m. at Central Park, with concessions on site. The August 14 movie night runs the same hours and screens Zootopia 2.
The park's Saturday morning identity is different again. The City of Moore and Cleveland County run a farmers market at the Central Park Multi-purpose Pavilion, 700 S. Broadway, on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to noon through September 19, with more than 20 farmers and ranchers on the roster. That is a long enough window that it functions as a weekly errand for a lot of families, not a novelty stop.
A quick way to think about the park's summer week:
- Friday evenings. Concerts in June, movies in July and August, amphitheater lawn.
- Saturday mornings. Cleveland County farmers market at the pavilion through September 19.
- One-off Saturdays. Party in the Park on June 27 at the same 700 S. Broadway address, per the city event listings.
The math of that schedule is what makes it a resident story rather than a tourist one. Two of the three anchors repeat every week. If you live within a mile of the park, you can build a routine around them without ever consulting a calendar.
The August Events That Aren't At The Park
A pair of the summer's biggest evenings sit outside Central Park, and both are worth knowing about because they are easy to miss.
The 43rd Annual National Night Out lands on Tuesday, August 5, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., at the Regal Moore Warren Theatre parking lot at 1000 S. Telephone Road, with Ambulance, Fire, and Police demonstrations plus local vendors and community partners. It reads as a civic obligation on paper, but in practice it is one of the few nights of the year when kids get to climb on a ladder truck without asking anyone's permission. If you have first- and second-graders, put it on the fridge.
The second is a Saturday morning event that swallows a corner of town for a couple of hours. The 2026 Moore War Run is scheduled for Saturday, August 29 at 7:30 a.m., staged out of Moore High School at 300 N. Eastern Avenue. Even if you are not running, the streets north of the school will be routed for the course. Plan grocery runs accordingly.
There is one more anchor to flag for October, because it hits Moore's south side and is worth blocking off now. The 2026 Redman Triathlon runs Saturday, October 17 at 6:30 a.m. at Lake Stanley Draper. That is not summer, technically, but for the swim-bike-run crowd it functions as the reason to keep the summer training miles honest.
Old Town, S. Western, And What "Downtown Moore" Now Means
Something worth pointing out for anyone who has lived here since the mid-2010s: the dining center of gravity has moved. Many restaurants have migrated into downtown Moore, affectionately renamed Old Town Moore, and there are now more than 150 restaurants in the city. That is a genuine shift in how the town eats. A decade ago a Friday night out meant a drive to 19th and I-35 for chain restaurants. It still can. It also doesn't have to.
Here is a working shortlist of Moore-proper places worth building a summer evening around, sorted by what you actually want to do.
If You Want An Amphitheater Dinner That Isn't A Food Truck
The Lokal Moore sits at 12501 S. Western Avenue, Suite B, and describes itself as offering Okie cuisine and a selection of craft beers from Oklahoma breweries. The Western Avenue address puts it about ten minutes from Central Park, which makes it a reasonable pre-movie stop if you want something more sit-down than a food truck queue.
The Garage, the Moore location of Smitty's Garage, is east of I-35 just off SW 19th Street, oriented around burgers and fries. This is the easier pick if the movie starts in an hour and you have kids voting.
If You Want A Night That Feels Like Moore's Own
Okie Tonk Cafe is worth planning around on nights when they have live music. Local event listings had Lip Service at Okie Tonk on a recent Friday, so it is worth checking their schedule before a weekend night out.
If You Are Rotating Through The New Ones
The Yelp Hip New Restaurants list for Moore, updated May 2026, currently features LoQmé, Meddys, and The Lokal among the neighborhood's newer arrivals worth trying. LoQmé and Meddys both anchor the Mediterranean end of the map, which used to be a gap in Moore's dining and no longer is.
If You Need A Weekday Lunch Or A Sunday Catering Order
Chicken Salad Chick opened at 750 SW 19th Street, offering in-restaurant and outdoor patio seating, take-out, curbside pickup, third-party delivery, and catering. Not the most exciting dining pick in town, but the catering lane is useful to know about for a graduation party or a Sunday small group.
A Sample Week That Actually Works
The reason to lay all of this out on one page is that the calendar makes more sense as a week than as a list. A late-July or mid-August week in Moore, if you are so inclined, could reasonably look like this: Saturday morning at the Cleveland County farmers market under the Central Park pavilion, a Sunday afternoon at one of the splash pads that Moore Monthly notes are open all summer, a Tuesday night at National Night Out on August 5, dinner at The Lokal on a Wednesday because Wednesday needed a reason, and a Friday movie night on the 14th with Zootopia 2 on the amphitheater screen. That is five nights of programming within a fifteen-minute radius, most of it free.
You will notice what is not on that list: any evening that requires driving up to Bricktown or out to Norman. The point of this post is that you can have a full summer without either.
The Underlying Point For Residents
Moore is not trying to become somewhere else. It is becoming a more concentrated version of what it already was, with the civic programming tightening around one park address and the dining spreading out into a walkable and drivable ring around Old Town and S.
